		<description>In my family, we have endured the suicides of two family members. It has been five years since the second one occurred, that of my son, Jacob. Somehow, God has given my son Josh and me the strength to endure. I am now using the two things that helped me heal: sports and my faith to help others. Thanks for your article. One of the toughest aspects of helping those in grief is feeling more comfortable with what to say. You did a nice job of helping those who care be more thoughtful here. My approach now is something like, “Want to take a walk? You don’t have to say anything?” Without my faith and the gifts that God gave me (like athletics), I am not sure I’d be where I am today.
